According to a new report, a man who was fatally shot by U.S. marshals last year was unarmed and only holding a bottle of cologne.

Apparently, officers thought they were in danger when 24-year-old Corey Levert Tanner allegedly came charging out of a door, holding a “black object” – now said to be cologne – with his arms raised.

Washington Times reports:

A new report finds a man shot and killed by U.S. Marshals last year was unarmed at the time, but was charging at officers.

The report out Friday from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement says officers believed their lives were in danger when they shot and killed 24-year-old Corey Levert Tanner in August in Espanola, north of Daytona Beach.
